Words of Thanks

This month I thought it would be nice to share with you some words of thanks that we have received from one of the ministries that we work with in Haiti.  The reason I want to share this with you is because it is a thank you to each of you.  We are only able to do this work through your support.  Haiti Care Mission is not just the Andersons.  It is every person who contributes to this mission.  We are a large body with many parts.  We have sewing partners, praying partners and financial partners.  Without each of you, we could not serve the children of Haiti as God has called us.  So this “Thank you” is for you.

Good morning Lynn and Lance Anderson:
Thank you for the power of love that you have shown to the children and members of our Mission, "Let The Children" this last Saturday the 26th of April 2014.
This morning I strongly feel His presence and loving care for the great works that you are doing for Haitian's children. May God through our brother Jesus Christ, keep your heart open for the children of Haiti.
We appreciate your support and future blessings that you may have for our Mission and we will also keep Haiti Care Mission in our prayers.  We pray that God can open doors for you and He will continue to bless you both spiritually and financially.

By the Grace of God and the Power of the Holy Spirit, be blessed.
Best regards,

Dominique Germain

Site Coordinator for Haiti

Let The Children

(Fondasyon Timoun Lakay)

It was an honor for Lance to serve with this ministry on his last trip and we are so grateful to hear that it made an impact in the lives of the children.

At the end of this week, Lynn and two ladies will be traveling to Haiti for another short trip.  We plan to visit 5-6 different locations and meet with many children.  We have over 1000 items packed to bless the children.  We are praying to make many new relationships and strengthen old ones.  Please pray for us as we travel.

Finally, on a personal note, we are very excited to be starting our summer vacation from school.  Grace has finished 3rd grade. Hope has completed 2nd grade and Lynn finished her 24th year of teaching.  Lance is working on his last class for his 2nd year of ministry training.  We are thankful for a season of rest and refreshing.

Financial Partner Name Change
Please take note that our financial accountability ministry has changed their name.  They have gone through some changes with their logo and name but they are still the same.

Their new name is Ministry Alliance.  When sending financial support, you can use the same address and continue to write checks directly to Haiti Care Mission.  The receipt you receive will have their new information.

They also have a new webpage which will allow you to make a donation directly through the webpage.  If you are currently using recurring payments through Faith in the Family, nothing will change except for the name of the organization on your credit card statements.

If you have any questions regarding these changes, please contact Tim at Ministry Alliance at 704-910-0546.

Prayer requests and Praises

· Please pray for our upcoming trip in June.  Lynn and two ladies will be traveling to Haiti in the first week of June to minister to the children in 5-6 different locations.  Pray for safety when traveling, favor wherever we go and God’s direction in all of the details.

· Please pray for the people of Haiti.  As the summer approaches, weather has a big impact on their lives.  Pray for God’s hand of protection over the nation through this summer season.

· Please pray for healing for the people of Haiti that have contracted Chikungunya virus.  It is a mosquito borne illness that is affecting many people.  Pray for the complete end of the virus and healing for all of those affected.

· Praise God for unexpected gifts and opportunities.  We are so grateful that He is leading this ministry.

Thank you for all of the prayer support.

Another Successful Trip

“Another successful trip”...these are the words we are writing quite often lately.  Have you noticed?  Over the past 7 months, we have had 5 trips to Haiti.  We are so excited to be experiencing  a time of increase in our ministry and in our opportunities to be serving in Haiti.

Earlier this week, Lance returned from a 4 day trip to Haiti.  While he was there he helped with a tile project and worked on a Haiti Care Mission distribution.  God started the ground work for this trip during our trips in November and March.

During the November trip, Lynn and the girls went to a small school in Petionville where we met Pastor David.  David was the pastor/principal of a school where we were able to distribute HCM items. We really enjoyed our time with Pastor David and hoped that we would have more opportunities to serve with him again.

Meanwhile, during our March trip, we met Madame Dominque, who runs a ministry for “street children” in Delmas.  She takes care of at least 150 children every Saturday.  The children range in age from three years old to 25.  This ministry provides a variety of activities for these children.  They serve these children through a prayer meeting, a meal, and skills classes (computer/sewing/jewelry design/etc.)  The children also make sweet treats which provides an income for the ministry.  The day we met Dominique she invited us to come and tour her ministry and meet her “children”.   But, we knew we wanted to do more than meet her children.  We wanted to bless them with gifts of love.

During Lance’s trip last week, he had the opportunity to visit Dominique’s mission.  He had a wonderful time meeting the children and sharing the Gospel message with them.  He was also able to take gifts in for each child as a reminder of how much God loves them.  Interestingly, Lance’s host for the day was Pastor David.  Pastor David serves as the Spiritual Coordinator and Director of Programs for this mission.  It was a real blessing for us to work with Pastor David again and meet these precious children.

We are grateful for how God opened the doors for Haiti Care Mission to serve with this ministry in Haiti.  The entire planning of this trip was through the hands of the Almighty.  He made these connections and He brought the pieces together.  That has to be one of the best parts of being in ministry….watching God work for His children.

In addition to the distribution/outreach that Lance completed, he also finished a tiling job for our missionary partners.  The bathroom that he worked on was one of the last parts of their home that still had damage from the 2010 earthquake.  It was nice to be able to help remove the last sign of that traumatic day from their house.

So we hope you will praise God with us for “another successful trip.”  We are grateful for the opportunity to be used by God to serve His missionaries and to serve His children.  We are looking forward to the next trip and the next chance to be His hands and feet.   By the way, God has already opened the door for the next trip and we will be returning to Haiti in June for another opportunity. Praise the Lord.

Thank you!!!!!

This month, we thought that the best way to say “Thank you” for all of the financial support, hand made items of love and prayer covering was to allow the pictures from our last trips speak for themselves.  You have blessed many through your faithful support.  We are so grateful for you.  You are a vital part of this ministry.

Thank you for blessing us and the children of Haiti.

Special bags were made for the people.  Here is a pastor with a new communion set that was donated for the Haitian churches.

Prayer requests and praises

· Praise the Lord for a successful trip in March.  Thank Him for His protection as we traveled on rough terrain, and His provision as we had an abundance of items to distribute.

· Praise God for His connections.  We were able to make some key relationships during this trip and they are leading us to new ministries and more children to serve.

· Please pray for direction for Haiti Care Mission.  We are looking to increase the number of trips each year and we want to know God’s plan.

· Please pray for Lance as he is planning another short trip this month to complete some work for a missionary we serve. Pray God’s protection and favor as he travels.

Thank you for covering HCM with prayer.  We appreciate each of you and are praying for you.

A Very Eventful Month

It has been another very eventful month for us at Haiti Care Mission and we are ready for more. Interestingly, the month started with a trip to Haiti and is ending with the packing for a trip to Haiti.  We are so grateful for these opportunities and, although it can be very chaotic and crazy, we would not change it one bit of this mission-filled life.

The first event of the month was a short work trip.  Lance and Lemuel, a fine young man from our church, traveled to Haiti during the first week of the month on a trip with a two prong purpose.  The first purpose was to update and rewire a school/church compound in Arnoux.  The second purpose was to transport items into Haiti for our March trip.  It is very helpful for us to have an extra opportunity to get more items into the country in order to increase the number of “tools” that we can use during our trip.

With all of that said, I am happy to report that their trip was successful on both fronts.  They were able to complete all of the electrical work, which included moving wires from a tree, which was the current electrical pole, to the building/generator shack.  They also ran wire to the new team building on the compound.   In addition, they transported over 400 items into the country.  We thank God for the protection over them while they worked and for guiding them to complete all of the tasks before them.

The next major event of this month was the opening of a new shipping avenue for HCM.  Through a partnership with a Haitian pastor, we were able ship over 600 items and a much needed portable generator into Haiti in sea container.  This new partnership will provide us with another great way to serve the children of Haiti.  We are confident that God will take these items much farther than we could possibly do on our own.  We are so grateful for this new opportunities.  We have been praying for ways to serve more children and to reach further corners of Haiti so this is the answer to this prayer.

The final event we have been working on this month  is the preparations for our trip in March.  We will be leaving this week for our annual spring trip.  We are looking forward to visiting  five new locations. It is always fun for us to see more of Haiti as well as meet more of the precious Haitian people.  We will traveling for three days to remote locations in the south.  In addition to the days of traveling, we will be spending several days working in Port au Prince.  Please pray for us next week as we strive to take full advantage of every opportunity God places in our path.

We are humbled to see how God is enabling Haiti Care Mission to grow.  Thank you to all of the hard working volunteers who are creating the items of love.  We can only do the work of sharing the love of Jesus with the children of Haiti with your help.  We are also indebted to all of our faithful financial supporters.  You are the backbone of this mission and you are giving us the ability to serve God’s precious children.  Everyday, we thank God for each of you.  Your sacrificial giving of time and resources is a blessing to many.

Praises and Prayer requests

    · Praise the Lord for a successful trip for Lance and Lemuel.  They were able to accomplish all of the electrical work.

· Praise God for our newest sewing groups and for donated materials to keep the projects rolling.  We are always amazed at how God provides the right people, the right materials, and the perfect timing.

· Praise the Father for His ministry of Haiti Care Mission.  He is leading and directing this ministry.  Pray that we heed to His voice and follow Him alone.

· Please pray for our March trip. Pray for safety, protection, health and favor every step of the way.

· Pray for the new churches and schools that we will be visiting.  Pray that the Lord prepares hearts to receive His love through us.

Thank you for faithfully covering HCM in prayer.  We appreciate all of our prayer warriors.

Busy, Busy, Busy

It has been a very busy month (or two) for Haiti Care Mission and we are extremely grateful.  For us, “busy” is not a term which means “burden”.  For us, “busy” is a term which means “fruitful”.  God has been working hard for HCM and we are feeling so blessed.

Since our last trip in November, we have had an active schedule of presenting to groups and making new contacts.  The Lord has brought us many new relationships and connections to HCM through past presentations but mostly through the word of mouth of our current sewing groups and friends.

Early in January, we had the opportunity to share HCM with the students and staff of Venice Christian School.  We spoke at the weekly chapel services on campus and invited the students to bring in backpacks for Haiti.  We do not have a final count yet on the number of backpacks that they collected but based on the fun and interesting conversations that followed the services, I am convinced there will be an abundant supply.  It was a privilege to be able to share our love for Haiti with our school family.

In addition to presenting at the school, we had a very special speaking engagement at our home church, New Life Church in Venice.  In the days following our presentation, we are experiencing a tremendous response from our church family. We can already see how God is going to use this church body to help us to serve the children of Haiti.

We are very honored every time we can share what God has birthed in our hearts for the country of Haiti, but when we see others take hold of this same vision, we get encouraged even more.  This month produced more dynamic connections but it should suffice to say that God is making connections that we never expected and are extremely grateful for.

Another activity that is keeping HCM “busy” this month is the planning for two more trips.  Early in February, Lance and one of our team members from November will be returning to Haiti to complete an electrical project at a countryside church/school.  They will work for several days in Arnoux as well as transport several hundred items to be distributed on our next HCM trip.  We will all travel to Haiti in March to minister to the children.  The exact locations are not yet determined but we know we will be directed by God as to where He wants us to go.

If you are a sewing group with completed items and you would like us to include them on the next trip, please send the items to Florida as soon as possible.  It takes us a week or two to get everything processed and packed before trip, so please send the items soon.

Finally this month, we have been “busy” working through a unique new connection in Haiti. We met Pastor Carlos during our last trip and he has offered to help us explore new avenues of shipping items to Haiti. We are going do a trial shipment with him later this month, and the potential for greater quantities of items is huge.  We are really looking forward to seeing how God uses this new relationship to serve His children.

We are thankful for this “busy” month and we are praying for many more to follow.

Prayer Requests and Praises

· Praise the Lord for new connections and relationships.  Thank God for new sewing groups which have joined us this year.

· Praise the Lord for opportunities to spread the word and share the vision of Haiti Care Mission this month.

· Please join us in praying for Lance’s February trip to Haiti.  He will be traveling to complete electrical work at one of the remote churches.  Pray for safe travels and God’s favor every step of the way.

· Please pray for us as we seek God’s plan and pathways for HCM.  We only want to go where He leads.

· Please keep our family in your prayers.  We are currently in a very busy season of ministry and family life.  We are grateful for all of the opportunities and activities but need prayer to make good decisions about commitments of our time.

God bless you for remembering to pray for us.
